Thankful Thursday

Unfortunately I don't have much good news to share in the potty training department.  I know most of you are sick of hearing about it anyway.  (Trust me, you can't be more tired of it than we are!) But, since I use this blog as a journal of sorts and may want to recall this torture one day, here is a quick update:  Truthfully, she hasn't really progressed passed her Day 2 level and, in fact, the past couple of days she has ceased to even bother telling us when she has to go.  (Not full-on accidents, but just wetting and holding because she can't be bothered to stop what she's doing.)  If you have any tips, ideas, or suggestions, I expect them in my inbox by tomorrow morning.  Also, we're willing to pay BIG bucks if you'll just come handle this for us so contact me if you're interested.  Our only other ideas are to a) stop rewards all together unless she makes it to the potty dry and b) get a toddler potty for her to use.  Anything else you got, lemme know.

Now, on to a more positive note, here is this week's list:

1.  Our marriage.  We celebrated seven years on Sunday.  God has so blessed us and I'm truly certain there is no better match, better man, better father, or better friend for me than the guy I married.

2.  Merry-Go-Round rides.  Audrey rode one a while back, but we just sat in one of the booths, so it barely counted.  She got to ride one again recently and sat on the horse she picked out while her Daddy stood beside her.  Every time she got around to where I was standing, she'd smile and wave at me so excitedly.  She looked so grown and beautiful that I totally stood there and cried while I waved back each and every time.

3.  Friends that know what you need even if you don't and then step up to the plate without you asking.  Thanks, KT.  You're such a blessing to me!

4.  Root beer floats.  I had one on Tuesday night just because.  Probably the first one in over a decade.  It rocked.

5.  This week's song is "Hold On" by Toby Mac.  Not necessarily about summer, but it definitely has a summer/Jamaican vibe to it.

Have a great weekend and say a prayer that our sanity and marriage stay in tact as we struggle through some major projects around the house this weekend!
